This past Saturday (17th June) saw the 2nd day of the baseline assessment days for Eden Park High School. Students participated in a range of Maths and English assessments that will help guide the teachers in their planning for when the students start on Thursday 30th August.
At present our staff of Eden Park High School are meeting with every student and their parent. These meetings are an important part of the transition process as they provide an opportunity for parents and students to ask any questions about starting secondary school as well as finding out more about the school before their first day.
Teachers from Eden Park High School are also visiting the students at their own Primary schools. This gives the opportunity for the staff of the school to speak to the year 6 teachers to find out more information on the students and it also provides the opportunity for the students to exhibit the work they have been doing at their primary school. This helps make sure the teaching is appropriately challenging for their level of ability when they start their secondary school journey.
Parents are reminded that Tuesday 4th July is taster day. Students will be experiencing a day in a secondary school environment and be taught by our teachers. Students should arrive to school between 8:45am and 8:55am. Parents should drop their child at the front gate of The Ravensbourne School where members of staff will be welcoming your child. Your child will be finishing at 2:30pm and should be collected from the front gate of the school.
