Student Careers and Aspiration
OUR VISION IS TO OFFER MEANINGFUL AND PERSONALIZED OPPORTUNITIES TO ALL OUR STUDENTS, ENABLING THEM TO CULTIVATE AMBITIOUS ASPIRATIONS AND MAKE WELL-INFORMED DECISIONS TOWARDS ACHIEVING THEIR FUTURE GOALS.
Our primary goal is to empower all our students with the necessary employability skills and insights into various career opportunities and further study, or training within specialised fields. We understand that each student is unique, so our offerings are tailored to cater to their age, abilities, and educational needs.
Our comprehensive careers programme aims to ensure that when our students graduate from Orion Eden Park, they possess the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in any path they choose for their futures.
At Orion Eden Park, we recognise that many young people may not have a clear career path in mind. To assist them in making informed decisions, we organise a wide range of events. These events are designed to highlight the connections between their current studies and potential careers. We offer engaging activities like STEM events, career focus days, internal and external competitions, life skills workshops, and subject-specific workshops led by employers. Additionally, students have the opportunity to attend college and university open events.
To support our students' exploration of career options, each of them is provided with a personalised Unifrog account—an online destinations platform. Unifrog allows students to explore their interests, learn about various careers, access labour market information, and discover the most up-to-date courses and training programmes available. This platform enables our students to build a dynamic careers profile as they progress through their educational journey, recording their achievements along the way.
To ensure that our careers provision aligns perfectly with the needs and interests of each student, we collect data through Unifrog. This information guides the interventions and support each student receives. We strongly encourage parents and guardians to explore Unifrog alongside their children, enabling them to provide additional support from home.
As our students move into Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5, our interventions become even more personalised. A qualified careers adviser is available to offer dedicated support, ensuring that each student's journey aligns with their individual future goals and aspirations.
In addition to academic pursuits, we equip our students with essential life skills. They learn about financial management, how to write an impressive CV and cover letter, and how to apply for future courses. To build their confidence, they also participate in mock interviews and develop their presentation skills.
We are proud to base our careers programme on the Eight Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring that our provision is in line with the highest standards of careers education and guidance.
